MP Shines on the Global Cinema Canvas, State’s Heritage to Reach Audiences in 80+ Countries

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh’s rich art, culture, wildlife, and spiritual heritage are set to captivate global audiences in a new and immersive way. An international television series titled “Rural Tourism of the World”, produced by Spain’s renowned production house Colors Communication Group (RTVV), is currently being filmed across various destinations in Madhya Pradesh. The series will be broadcast in more than 80 countries worldwide, giving the state’s tourism potential and heritage unprecedented international visibility.

Global Collaboration Taking Shape Under the Chief Minister’s Vision

Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB), Dr. Ilayaraja T., stated that the initiative is a positive outcome of the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister and the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Madhya Pradesh and Spain. He noted that this marks the first major international collaboration of its kind and that many more global film and content production projects are expected to follow in the coming years.

A Major Success Story from FITUR Madrid 2026

The foundation for this international project was laid during FITUR Madrid 2026, one of the world’s leading tourism fairs held earlier this year in Spain. A delegation led by Dr. Abhay Arvind Bedekar, Additional Managing Director (AMD), Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, presented the state’s diverse tourism and filming opportunities before tourism and film industry stakeholders from Spain and across Europe. The discussions and collaborations initiated during the event have now translated into Madhya Pradesh rapidly emerging as a preferred international shooting destination.

A Global Showcase of Heritage, Nature and Spirituality

The international series will present to the world the many dimensions that make Madhya Pradesh one of India’s most unique tourism destinations. The filming includes UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Sanchi Stupa and the Bhimbetka Rock Shelters, while the wilderness of Satpura National Park, Pachmarhi Biosphere Reserve, and the scenic Tawa region will highlight the state’s extraordinary natural wealth through jungle and boat safaris.

The series also captures the essence of rural and tribal Madhya Pradesh through locations such as Tamia, Sabarwani, and Dhusawani, showcasing tribal traditions, Gond paintings, village homestays, local cuisine, and authentic “farm-to-plate” experiences. The spiritual magnificence of Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple in Ujjain and its sacred traditions will also be presented to international audiences.

Spanish Crew Experiences the Warmth of Madhya Pradesh

The Spanish film crew experienced the warmth of Madhya Pradesh’s rural hospitality during their stay at the Dhusawani Homestay. Director Juan Frutos described the experience as “extraordinary.”

“If you truly want to understand real India, you must come here. Shooting this documentary on Madhya Pradesh with my team has been an incredible experience. We have captured amazing footage of this beautiful region. Thank you very much for the unforgettable moments and hospitality.”

A New Chapter for Film Tourism

Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB) is providing all necessary permissions, logistical support, security arrangements, and on-ground coordination for the shoot. The initiative is being viewed as a significant step toward establishing Madhya Pradesh as a “film-friendly destination” on the global map.

Over the past few years, Madhya Pradesh has made remarkable progress in film tourism, emerging as a preferred location for Bollywood films, web series, and international documentary productions. Beyond strengthening the state’s global branding, such projects are also generating opportunities for local employment, rural tourism, and cultural economy.

Today, Madhya Pradesh is no longer known only as the “Tiger State” of India—it is steadily evolving into a vibrant cinematic canvas filled with nature, culture, spirituality, and immersive experiences for the world to discover.
